Am new Xamarin, using windows 7 enterprise but installed visual studio 2017 but my project solution doesn't have a XAML file. Can i get help
Try this... Its the building of a new solution from VS2017http://redpillxamarin.com/2018/03/12/2018-101-vs2017-new-solution/
If that doesn't work there are two things to consider:
1) Window 7 - You really want to update to Windows 10 for proper compatability with today's software and today's development tools. I have severe reservations about Win7 being capable of handling Xamarin.
2) VS2017 installation - Its probably missing something. Go back and install EVERYTHING. Every last workload, option, feature, extra checkbox. The whole ball of wax and the kitchen sink.
Hi, your solution will have MainPage.xaml and App.xaml by default.
I understand my solution should have a MainPage.xaml y default which it doesn't have. Would like to know why i just purchased and installed visual studio 2017 enterprise edition and my OS is windows 7 enterprise edition.
Could you please describe what project type you have created?
File->New Project->Cross-Platform->Mobile App(Xamarin.Forms)
Then you can chose your platforms and if you want a blank app or some example master detail pages.
both give me App.cs/xaml and Mainpage.cs/xaml
Thanks ClintStLaurent I thing have to install windows 10.
I have the same Problem with Visual Studio 2019. Have you found a solution?
My mainpage.xaml is missing in the explorer so i can't start programming
