I get this message when trying to submit a post: "You have to be around for a little while longer before you can post links."
@JohnMiller first of all, do all participants in a thread get notified if I just post a reply, or only the thread author? (Wondering if I should put the @ sign here to get your attention.)
By content you mean posts like this one? How many posts? Like my post if "less than 50". But seriously though, you can send me a PM if you can't disclose any of this in the open.
I won't be evil, I promise. I come in piece!
As for formatting the links, I actually used that trick initially. But I edited it out, because it's a bit useless if I want to display an image right on the forum post, and not a (broken) link. Purely as a link, it is also a bit inconvenient to have to copy and paste and insert the protocol. But it's something alright. But... meh... I will just have to stick around for a while longer, be more active and hope to get that privilege some time in the future.
The notifications depend on the user's settings. By default, notifications are not sent by just commenting. Please do @ me. I don't always reply when it's just a comment (I usually don't see it then).
Yes, please do stick around and keep participating.
Too much spam. Xamrin is finally getting started.
I didn't even post a link. I tried to post an image and got the same message. (Yes, posting an image may require linking, but then I should not be allowed to upload an image to the server if I can't post it.)
So what's the verdict, how long did you have to wait Simon?
I have sent a message to @KarinaUng, hopefully she will be able to help us both. So hang in there!
Thanks, much appreciated!
Sorry for the confusion. You won't be able to post links until you have a little more content on the forums. I apologize for the annoying error message. Unfortunately, we have to be pretty aggressive with spam protection and this is one of those measures. As a workaround, try formatting you link without the https:// or www.
Trying to ask a question and getting the same message
There seems to be some bug in the forum code because I am trying to ask a question with a couple of code blocks and I am getting the same message which is preventing me, not very useful for a forum like this!
EDIT: I think it's down to having XAML namespaces in my code block, still, slightly frustrating!
I've been waiting for 2 months, ridiculous......
Sorry for the confusion. It's not time based, it's activity based. You should be good to go now!
same issue with me
