Problem with mipmap icon

Hello, I am developing a Xamarin.Android app.

I have mipmap folders, and I create a Icon.png file inside each one with the specific dimensions. Then, in AndroidManifest I select @mipmap/Icon as "Application icon".

But when I compile the solution I get the error:

Error: No resource found that matches the given name (at 'icon' with value '@mipmap/Icon').

If I put Icon.png into "drawable" folder and select @drawable/Icon as Application Icon it works OK.

    The solution:
    1. Change all "Icon.png" names into mipmap folders to "icon.png".
    2. Clean project
    3. Re-open Visual Studio
    4. Select "@mipmap/icon" in "Application Icon" in AndroidManifest.

    On Android Platform you should name your images based on their allowed naming restrictions.
    Here are those allowed naming ways.

    Android Naming Restrictions:
    * Lowercase letters
    * Numbers
    * Underscore
    * Period

    Hope it helps you in the future.

    Thank you! This is what actually helped me. We just exchanged icons in an Android project for the new adaptive icons and the designer were giving us icon names with capital letters. It works when you have the icons in the drawable folder but doesn't when they are in the mipmap folder.
