After upgrading VS4Mac to I am unable to open a project that opened perfectly an hour ago.
I receive a series of error screens as shown below, after which any existing code pages are blank !
I guess I need to go back a version
I suspect this is due to the MFractor addin. I would disable that if you have it installed to see if that fixes the problem. There may be a later MFractor addin that fixes this crash.
@mattward I do indeed have MFractor installed. I have already rolled back to the previous release of VS4Mac (following our conversation in https://forums.xamarin.com/discussion/104692/how-to-downgrade-visual-studio-for-mac#latest. I will try your solution as soon as I get the opportunity.
@mattward - You are spot on, I disabled MFractor and the projects all loaded successfully. Thank You !
Thank you. I had opened this thread with the same issue, and the same resolution:
FWIW, I updated from 3.00.16 to 3.02.12 and that didn't solve the issue for me.
@JonathanDibble What version of MFractor are you currently running? We had known issues in versions prior to MFractor 3.2.10.
More than happy to help sort this out, please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org if you'd like.
@Matthew-Robbins I am not sure what version I was running at the time of the issue.
Following on from the comments of @mattward when I disabled MFractor I noticed there was an update available.
I checked my projects opened with MFractor disabled (which they did). I then did the upgrade and re-enabled MFractor and checked that the projects still opened (which they did).
I am now running version 3.02.12 of MFractor, but I didn't make a note of the version I was using at the time of the issue.
I'm guessing that the reason I reported it didn't work with 3.02.12 is that I would have needed to quit/start VS Mac after doing the upgrade of the extension.
@DanMiser as long as everything is working now It wasn't to painful an upgrade
@JonathonDibble Great to hear that your issue is resolved
Again, if you ever need a hand with MFractor and sorting out any issues with it, please email me: email@example.com
