Have any of you incorporated to sell your apps? Would anyone care to share some pointers about when incorporation becomes necessary?
All depends on where in the world you are, but the usual reason to do it is:
Reduce your tax and writing off expenses
Legal protection - if Google sues you your company folds but you don't lose your house
If you're going to get serious about your app you are definitely better to build a company around your app venture. Its very easy to spin up a company and set yourself up as an LLP. Of course if its just a side project for you, its not worth it, but if you want to start to market the app and buy media, then you will find it easier if you have set yourself up as a company.
its all to do with how serious you are and whether one day you would want to give up your day job and do this full time.
