Want to build great native apps quickly? This session will give you an overview of the Xamarin.Forms API, controls, and toolset, as we illustrate how to quickly build native apps for iOS, Android completely in C#, all while maximizing the amount of shared code between them. This session aims to break down all barriers to getting started. Spoiler: if you know C#, you already know how to build great looking apps using Xamarin.Forms.

Tom Soderling is a .NET developer who discovered Xamarin five years ago and jumped at the chance to write apps for his iPhone using C#. He is a Xamarin Certified Mobile Developer, a Xamarin.Forms enthusiast, and creator of several apps, like How Deep Is It? He’s currently a Sr. Mobile Apps Developer at Polaris Industries, where he rides hogs, and works to improve the off-road riding experience through innovative software like the Ride Command (https://ridecommand.polaris.com/en-us/landing-pages/AppLandingPage) app.
About the Group
Led by local developers, the Minnesota Enterprise Mobile User Group is a place to come together to share knowledge, experiences, and lessons learned with the development community regarding enterprise mobile development, with a focus on mobile cross-platform application development and the Xamarin toolset. Join our new developer conference in Dallas. We will be having several Xamarin topics including: A Guide Developers Guide To Mobile Accessiblity by Andrew Strickland.
Dev Fest Weekend (DFW), www.devfestweekend.com, is a full-day conference for developers, by developers. It will be held at Microsoft's Regional Office in Irving, TX on Saturday, October 13. Lunch and snacks will be provided.
We have two keynotes speakers:

In addition to our amazing keynotes, this conference will have multiple tracks covering Data, Azure, IoT, Web, Mobile, AR/VR, 3D Printing and Artificial Intelligence. Also we will have a VR/AR and 3D Printer Demo Area as well as an amazing Robot Competition.
Dev Fest Weekend is being organized by local community leaders in order to provide an affordable conference experience to the software developers of North Texas.
